Neem Oil, being high in antioxidants helps protect the skin from environmental damage. It also contains carotenoids which fight free radical damage and thereby reduce the visible signs of skin aging. The beauty of using neem oil for skincare is the diverse benefits that it has to offer and how easily it fulfills the needs of different skin types.

Below we list out the few of the many benefits that neem oil offers in skin care.

Combat Acne

Acne is usually a problem related to the overproduction of sebum by the skin’s glands but bacterial proliferation usually aggravates this problem. Use of neem oil in mild concentrations is effective in inhibiting bacterial growth and can be considered a much safer option when compared to the myriad creams, face wash and serums available in the market which contain harmful toxins.

Neem oil being anti-inflammatory helps lessen the redness, itching and pain related to acne. Moreover, the high fatty acid content helps reduce scarring and damage to the skin caused by acne.

You can take a teaspoon of Almond or Olive oil and add 10 drops of Neem oil to it. Apply the solution to the skin and depending on your preferences, you can either wash it off after an hour or leave it on for the night.

Hydrate Dry Skin

Neem oil serves as an excellent skin moisturizer, primarily because of its hydrophobic quality, which ensures that it does not readily mix with water and forms a protective layer on the surface of the skin.
Because of its fatty acid content, it is able to easily penetrate the skin and provide moisture and hydration from the inside out. Using neem oil at full concentration might has the potential to irritate the skin so we will recommend diluting it using Almond or Olive oil depending on your skin type.

Help Reduce Sun Damage

Frequent exposure to the sun’s UV rays can damage the outer layers of the skin resulting in very visible signs of aging, like fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. Neem oil helps reduce and in some cases reverse this damage due to its ability to fight free radical damage. It also helps reduce any inflammations or irritation that might result from sun exposure.

Soothe and Relieve Eczema Prone Skin

Eczema is a condition which is characterized by skin reacting adversely to external irritants. Usually eczema results in dry, irritable, patchy, red skin. At its worst, eczema can result into severely dry, cracked skin which might run the risk of secondary infections. Neem oil can considerably alleviate eczema symptoms, though it cannot cure the root cause of eczema. Nonetheless, due to its healing and soothing ability, it can reduce inflammations and heal abrasions in the skin.

Neem oil has high levels of antioxidants which help protect the skin against environmental damage. It also contains abundant reserves of carotenoids which fight  free radicals and slow down visible signs of aging. Further, because of its fatty acid and vitamin e content it gets readily absorbed into the skin and helps to nourish the skin from within, thereby rejuvenating it and bolstering its elasticity.
